What Is a Nasty Nelson in Pickleball?
If someone tells you they got hit by a serve before the rally even started, they are probably talking about the Nasty Nelson.
It is one of the few shots in pickleball that can end the point before the returner even touches the ball. It is completely legal, catches players off guard, and almost always gets a reaction. Whether that reaction is laughter or an eye roll depends on who is on the court.
