The One Front, One Back Formation in Pickleball

If you have ever found yourself at the kitchen line while your partner is still stuck at the baseline, that is the one front one back formation. And it is one of the weakest positions your doubles team can be in.

Why It Hurts Your Team

The player at the net is suddenly responsible for covering too much court alone. Any ball hit wide, at their feet, or behind them becomes extremely difficult to handle. Meanwhile the player at the baseline is under constant pressure because the opposing team knows exactly where to attack.
