If you want to improve your dinks and your volleys at the same time, this drill does both in one exercise.
The Setup
- What you need: A small pyramid of balls placed in the back half of the kitchen on both sides of the net, one for each player.
- What the pyramids mark: Each player's territory. The back half of the kitchen on your side is yours to protect.
- Your goal: Make the ball land on your opponent's pyramid while stopping the ball from reaching yours.
- How to protect your territory: If the ball is headed toward the back half of your kitchen, do not let it bounce. Volley it before it gets there.
- How to attack: Aim your dinks at the back half of your opponent's kitchen to try to hit or land near their pyramid.
