What Happens If You Miss the Ball on Your Serve in Pickleball?

If you swing at the ball on your serve and completely miss it, nothing happens. You simply try your serve again.

That surprises a lot of players because the instinct is to assume any mistake during the serve costs you the point. But a missed swing before the ball is actually struck is not considered a fault under the rules. The serve has not technically happened yet, so you are free to re-serve.
