What is a Serve in Pickleball?

The serve is the shot that starts every rally. The server hits the ball from behind the baseline diagonally cross-court, and it must land past the kitchen line in the correct service box on the other side.

Miss the box, hit the kitchen, or land out of bounds. That is a fault, and the serve does not count.
