What Is a Volley in Pickleball?

A volley is when you hit the ball out of the air before it bounces. It happens most at the kitchen line during fast exchanges and it is one of the shots that requires the least swing and the most control.

Paddle Position: The 11 O'Clock Rule

Keep your paddle at 11 o'clock between every shot, slightly open toward your backhand side. Get back to that position after every single hit.
